Posted by Surabaya – International Airport has increased airport operational hours starting March 1 2024. Additional operational hours start at 05.00 WIB to 24.00 WIB or 19 operational hours.
“Thank God, starting this March Juanda Airport has increased its operational service hours to 19 hours, where previously it was only 17 hours, namely from 05.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB,” said Juanda Airport General Manager Sisyani Jaffar, Wednesday (6/3/2024).READ ALSO:
In terms of personnel and facilities, in previous days we were on standby 24 hours. “So, of course, these additional hours, both facilities and human resources, are very ready to be operational until 24.00 WIB,” added Sisyani.
According to him, with the increase in operational hours, he is optimistic that this will also be balanced by an increase in the number of planes and passengers.
“The addition of operational hours means that we are also opening up many opportunities for airlines to increase flight frequency or new routes, both domestic and international,” said Sisyani.
Meanwhile, until February 2024, Juanda International Airport has served 2,132,815 passengers with 14,801 aircraft movements .
“Based on data at the end of February, the number of passengers and aircraft experienced a slight increase, where in the same period in 2023, the number of passengers was 2,101,995 pax and aircraft movements were 14,794 flights,” said Sisyani.
Sisyani said that cargo had increased by 22 percent compared to the previous year. “For cargo deliveries as of February, it was recorded at 12,055,693 kg, an increase of 2.1 million, whereas in the same period in 2023 it was recorded at 9,912,399 kg,” he said.
