Posted by Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko finally opened his voice about his absence at the inauguration of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency at the State Palace, Wednesday (21/2/2024). After further investigation, it turns out that Moeldoko is currently a speaker at the FAO Asia Pacific conference.
“WHO WAS LOOKING FOR ME TODAY, CALM DOWN, I’M HERE. I was a speaker at the FAO Asia Pacific conference which was attended by 34 country delegates. I explained three priorities for agricultural and food transformation to face the food crisis in Asia Pacific,” said Moeldoko quoting his Instagram social media account @dr_moeldoko, Wednesday night.
Moeldoko revealed that there were many things he talked about when representing Indonesia as a speaker at FAO Asia Pacific. First, transforming the way of farming by emphasizing the importance of encouraging more efficient farming with technology and sustainability. Regional cooperation in developing agricultural technology needs to be strengthened.
Second, transformation of food products. The Asia Pacific region, which is rich in biological resources, must build food security by diversifying food.
Third, transformation of actors or farmers by highlighting the problem of farmer regeneration in the region and the world. Farmers are getting older and it is difficult to attract young people. To answer this challenge, Indonesia is working with FAO to build a farmer regeneration program. This program includes tiered training from upstream to downstream, including the use of smart farming technology and profitable business methods.
On that occasion, he also congratulated AHY who was appointed Minister of ATR and Hadi Tjahjanto as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Polhukam) by President Joko Widodo.
“I also congratulate Mr. @hadi.tjahjanto and Mr. @agusyudhoyono who have been appointed by President @jokowi as Ministers of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet. I’m sorry I couldn’t attend the inauguration because I had to carry out my duties as head of @kantorstafpresidenri to be a speaker at the @fao forum in Sri Lanka,” he concluded.
